Hi I am adding a new machine on my shop floor. I loaded Remo dnc on a computer that has regulat com ports it also has windows 10. There is an issue with the download. It stops after about 50 lines and remo show : waiting for cnc. I tried 2 other computers and I get the exact same result down to the same line in the program. I suspect windows 10. Can you help me?

Windows 7 or Windows 10 shouldn't make any difference.
Does the CNC show any alarms?
Usually when RemoDNC stops sending data and sits forever showing the "waiting for CNC" notice it's because the CNC has hit an error/alarm and stopped taking in data.
Most common cause of that is a CNC receive buffer overflow. Something like a fanuc would throw an '87' alarm.
You said your computer has regular com ports (not USB adapter). In that case first thing to do is disable Windows Com Port FIFO.
On the windows 10 computer Click with the RIGHT mouse button on the windows 'Start' button and select the 'Device manager' option.
This opens a window with a list of all the various hardware in the computer. In that list about half way down is "Ports (COM&LPT)"
Open that and you should see your com port. Double click the com port and a small window opens with Tabs. Select the "Port Settings" tab.
Ignore baud rate/databits options in that window but at the bottom is an "Advanced" button. Click that.
A window appears with "FIFO" options. Two sliders for receive and send buffers. Slide them down to zero and then UnCheck the box for "Use FIFO" to disable FIFO completely.
Some serial ports, especially USB, might have other buffering options here. If they do then disable them.
OK to close device manager.
Some people say you should reboot the computer now but I'm not sure it makes any difference. But rebooting and going back to look at those FIFO options to make sure they stayed disabled isn't a bad idea.
Try sending again to the CNC - any difference?

Thank you Roger for your email saying that FIFO solved the problem.
