TNCServer software from Heidenhain is the good for transferring programs from the PC into heidenhain memory - At the CNC console you can browse the PC folders and select the file you want. Good if PC is a long distance from cnc.
But I've never been able to get that to drip feed a long program that doesn't fit in the machine memory. In that case you use easydnc. put the machine so that its ready to run then go to the PC and send the program.
Cheap windows tablet stuck on the side of the machine is ideal. File is on the main server and the tablet is just used to pull the file from the server and drip feed it into the machine. Once you get used to it its actually esier to use than tncserver.
