| By: admin | Posted on: Sep 30 2004 at 09:04:39 PM | I`m not aware of any special requirments for the dynapath CNC.
Make sure your cable is as per page 28 of the dncXP manual. Just connect the top 3 wires of the diagram on page 28 and short out pins 6,8 and 20 at the CNC as explained in the very lower paragraph on page 28.
Don`t bother setting easyDncXP, just make sure the correct PC com port is selected (COM1, COM2 etc) and then follow the autoscan instructions on page 19 of the manual.
If the autoscan succeeds then save the detected settings and then go to easyDncXP`s setup and enable XonXoff flow control and save.
And when you`ve done that email me and tell me what happened.

| By: admin | Posted on: Dec 3 2004 at 01:35:26 PM | Right. Sorry. because you mentioned AutoScan I thought you meant that the line went missing while data was being transferred from the CNC to the computer.
This line, is it any particular line? IE always the same line in the same program or just any arbitary line.
What flow control are you using? XonXoff or RTS/CTS?
The computer`s com port, is it a proper COM port or a USB-to-RS232 adapter.
Have you disabled the com port`s FIFO ? (ControlPanel, hardware, Ports, advanced options)
You`re using easyDncXP with other machines. They`re all working OK aren`t they? and it`s just this dynapath where we`ve got a glitch? | |
| By: Guest | Posted on: Dec 3 2004 at 01:56:33 PM | It is not the same line every time. It seams to be far into the program. I think the machine`s buffer is very lage compared to most cnc machines. I`m getting the wait when I use the waitXon/waitXoff but this still does not matter.
I have tried both XonXoff and RTS/CTS. The port is the standard COM port 1 and the FIFO is turned off.
Maybe I just have to run it at 9600 baud and go slower.
As far as other machine controls, I`m running Fanuc 10m, Fanuc 11m, Fanuc 15m, Toshiba 600. All of these machines are running great. | |

When drip feeding the actual data rate doesn`t really matter because the computer is spending most of its time waiting for the tool to catch up anyway. Unless your cutting/machining process is very quick, and you`re cutting air, then even a data rate of 2400 or slower isn`t likely to make the job take any longer.
Try a fairly slow speed. Maybe even 1200 or 2400 just to see if the problem is speed related. | |
