I have a problem cnc machine to the computer through tcp/ip option. I am not sure which remote ip address and ip port to use. And is it better to connect through a ethernet cable or rs232 cable?

Using the TCP/IP option one would assume you're have an ETHERNET-to-RS232 box/server.

The connection into the CNC, from the box, is still RS232.

The advantage of using ethernet or WIFI is that you may already have ethernet or wifi in your shop. If CNC machines are some distance away from the computer then you won't need to install long RS232 cable to each machine. If your computer is right next to your CNC then there'd be no point in using an ethernet/rs232 box.

If you do use ethernet/wifi to rs232 then the supplier of that box would supply setup instructions on how to setup the box and how to get the IP address and port number of the box so that you can set that into Easydnc.
