Topic: CNC won't accept program
|
By: Guest Bob G. | Posted on: Jun 17 2013 at 07:43:59 PM | We have a Hardinge VMC600 with Fanuc series O-MD control. I have been trying everything(I think), fro a couple days now, and the CNC won't accept the program. The computer does accept the program when sent from the CNC, but when it prints it out it does it on every other line.

Program needs to begin and end with a % symbol like
%
O1234
...
...
M30
%
That upper case O might need to be changed to the colon (double-dot) character :
That is an option in the cnc. Strange thing is that if its set wrong then the cnc will output one but only read in the other.

In your first post you said that you could send to the computer but it showed empty lines. What does it show now? If you're getting nothing at all then you should double check that cable.

Now what's happening is that when I send the prog to the mach I get an error message on the control. But when I push the program button I can see that the program did transfer. The RemoDNC screen shows that it's waiting, and the circle with the green dots is showing.
When I send the prog from the mach it transfers but it puts a blank line on every other line. Like it adds an extra end of block character (;) to the end of every line.

Receiving from CNC. You probably have the fanuc parameters (in the fanuc) set to send CRLFLF or something like that. Change it to just CRLF or (or just LF)
By: Guest | Posted on: Jun 19 2013 at 10:11:01 PM | Thanks, we got rid of the blank lines when receiving from the CNC.
I've tried all the TX settings (3,5 & 10), with no change when sending to the CNC.

What is that error essage?
The TXTimeout would not fix that error. It would just stop RemoDNC waiting at the end.
By: Guest | Posted on: Jun 20 2013 at 01:16:55 PM | I get a "087" error. The manual says that means "Buffer Overflow".
By: Support | Posted on: Jun 21 2013 at 08:22:19 PM | First thing to do is to make sure flow control is enabled in the dnc software setup. Usually XonXoff in RemoDNC. In the CNC it may not be configurable (permanently enabled) or you might need to tell it to use DC codes (DC1 and DC3)
Next thing is disable windows FIFO. To do that go to
Windows Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Ports Com&LPT Select the com port > Port Setting > Advanced. This displays a checkbox and sliders to adjust the FIFO. Slide the sliders down to zero and uncheck the box to disable the FIFO.
Then if that doesn't fix it try increasing the Block Delay In RemoDNC setup.
Then if that doesn't work then consider reducing the baud rate. (obviously reduce it in the dnc software and in the cnc parameters)
