I'm trying to get a Cincinnati Autoshape to communicate. The best result I'm getting is just "$99". I've tried different cables and settings but only get this far. I'm using a cable that works with Fanuc, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi ans Siemens controls. I've tried a 3 and 5 wire cables with the same results. I'm not sure if the AutoShape control is sending characters that EZDNC doesn't recognize. Any ideas?

in the dnc setup set the Mode to None and set the baud rate the same as the cnc.
Put the Dnc in to receive mode (normal receive mode. Not autoscan)
When you then send/punch from the cnc to the computer. Does 'anything' appear on the computer display ?

The autoshape is trying to use a proprietary protocol. Unfortunately it isn't understood by easyDnc.
You're the first person to request this protocol be added to our DNC software. Give us a day or so and we'll have a better understanding of what's involved.

What we'll probably do is make a version of the DNC that can, initially, "receive" a file from the press using the ci protocol. You'd send that file to us so that we can look at how it's formatted - then we'd release an update to the DNC software that can then transmit files "to" the press.
Hopefully we can get something done in a week or so.
