In version 4 we could easily drag and drop files from Windows folders onto the CNC icon. Much easier than selecting files the 'normal' way.
v5 doesn't have that capability ?
I've used v4 on my laptop for a few years but now I'd like to attach Windows Tablets to each of my Machining centers and the operator will simply use his finger to drag a program from the windows desktop onto the CNC icon and hit the send button.
So, my questions. Will v5 work on a tablet the way I've described and is there a way to get the drag/drop working ?
Thanks

Yes. and Yes.
Since Windows Vista there have been security issues that occasionally blocked the drag and drop function in easyDnc v4. To give a consistent user experience we decided not to incorporate the drag/drop in earlier releases of v5.
But if you now download the latest version of RemoDNC (should be 5.0.43 or above) you will find that Drag and drop is enabled. You can drag programs from Windows drives and folders and drop them onto the CNC icon or onto the DNC text/program window for quick loading of CNC files.
Simply drop a file on the CNC icon and click the SEND button.
To answer your questions about Tablets. Yes. Tablets running any version of Windows (except 'RT') so Windows 8 Pro is no problem. We've fully tested on MS Surface Pro although that device can be quite expensive and lower cost tablets are available.
RemoDNC 5 has been specifically designed with big menu buttons and big icons so, once configured, you can do almost everything with a finger.
