Hello. Will it work with Brother TC-229, 1996 year of manufacturing? I do not know what type of the controller on this machine. Seems, that Brother produce their own type of controllers...

Should work with most controllers.
In RemoDNC setup just select the MODE=AUTO option and make sure the baud rate is set the same. Leave all the others at their defaults.
Then, put the computer/DNC into Receive mode and go to the CNC and send/punch out a program.
What do you get on the computer display? Anything at all? Garbage?
If everything looks good then you're pretty much good to go. But if it's garbage then take a look at the garbage. Is it 100% garbage? or do you see a lot of good characters maybe around 20 to 50% random characters are garbage? In that case the baud rate is correct but the DataBits/Parity setting in DNC setup is wrong.
Once you get 100% good characters yoou can try sending a file to the CNC. How does that go?
