We're having issues sending programs. The programs start with %+EOB, so I've set the software to look for %+EOB, but it doesn't send the program. If I delete the %+EOB at the beginning of the program, it sends fine. I suspect that one of the other options for program start and ends might fit better with our shop, but there's no documentation on what any of those start and end code options mean. Is there documentatison that I'm not seeing or do you guys have any info on what each of the start and end codes are?
Thanks in advanced!

Hello Ed,
It sounds as if your program already contains the % symbol at the start. In that case you do NOT need to set %eob in the dnc setup.
The start and end codes in the dnc setup are there to tell the dnc to insert the start/Codes into the data.
You dont not need to set the start and end codes if the program already contains them.

Ed. You didn't say what cnc you have. I'll describe the procedure for a Fanuc because that's what I've got. I'm sure other machines will have similar functions.
In the DNC program set the flow control to xonxoff(wait) and enable the Repeat Checkbox. You do NOT need any start/end codes.
In the DNC select the program you want to send to the machine and hit the[Send] button. The DNC displays a message saying "Waiting for CNC".
Now go to the CNC (Fanuc in 'Tape' mode) and hit the Cycle Start button. Machine starts cutting.
At the end of the machining process the dnc will go back to the top and sit displaying that 'Waiting for CNC message' again. No need to do anything at the computer. Just get the machine ready to run again and hit the cycle start button.
And it'll keep doing that repeat until you click the stop button on the dnc.
